IEDC Annual Conference 2019

We are pleased to inform you that WAIPA Consultative Committee Member IEDC will host this year’s Annual Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana from 13 – 15 October 2019.

WAIPA Executive Director will take part in WAIPA Panel “Using the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Metrics to Measure and Communicate Livability”, which will explore what makes a community “livable”, how can investment promotion agencies (IPAs) and economic development organizations (EDOs) align their focus and activities to achieve livability, and how can they leverage their commitment to livable communities to build a local brand that talent and investors would value? EDOs and IPAs can embrace the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) to distill their social impact objectives, measure and evaluate their effectiveness in these areas, and develop a valuable brand that ties their city to a global community. This session brings together experts in economic development and investment attraction at both the local and global levels.
